There are about 500,000 people involved in Scouting in the UK with around 500 in Stone District. The district does not have it’s own specific mission statement but rather chooses to adopt that of the UK Scout Association.
We believe that through adventure we challenge individuals so that they learn and experience new things that enrich their lives.
The aim of the District is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.
The Method of achieving the Aim of the Association is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law, and guided by adult leadership.
We are continually reviewing and trying to improve the quality of the experience that we provide for young people, and this goes for everyone from local Scout leaders right up to national Headquarters.
